Why Qorbono?

If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
      John 8:32

Qorbono is a non-profit organization operating since 2006 on the web. the bible study started in 1996 and, despite various interruptions due to pregnancies when my wife needed help at home or due to professional assignments that required travel, this bible study has lasted nearly 15 years.

Thanks to your encouragements and dedication, Qorbono is now poised to be a reference for in-depth Catholic bible studies. No doubt, its structure and make-up will change in the forthcoming months and years but its mission remains the same: Let Catholics discover the beauty of Scripture.

St. Ephrem St. Ephrem lived in troubled times.  During the fourth century, heresies were rampant. St. Ephrem adapted the truth of the faith into hymns that could be sung by everyday people in everyday places and, in so doing, became an instrument of sanctification in God's hands.

We live in troubled times in the twenty-first century; an age where Powerpoint presentations, short attention spans, cell phones, podcasts, and a zillion petty things distract us from the truth.

Yet, the Truth is One, Unchangeable, and the Source of all peace. Christ is Truth, all of the truth and nothing but the truth.

The bible studies on Qorbono present the everlasting truth of the Catholic Church in a contemporary language so that, in the company of angels and saints, we can sing a hymn of praise in a language ever ancient yet ever new.
